Now I've had plenty of experience with Nuun in the past but in our swag bags at TRE we got a massive collection of Nuun types and flavors, many of which I'd never tried before.If you've never had Nuun before, they're an electrolyte supplement that's perfect for helping keep you hydrated day-to-day, or during intense exercise. I started using the original Nuun Electrolytes to help refuel during and after training runs when I was marathon training last spring but they've also got an immunity supplement which you may have seen my review of as well as a Vitamin supplement which I'd never had before.
Nuun Electrolytes
The original Nuun Electrolyte tabs are definitely what I use most often on my runs because they've got some of my favorite flavors (looking at you strawberry lemonade). Nuun also offers their electrolyte tabs with caffeine which can be a nice boost, especially before races or tough workouts. The energy tabs were also great when I was hiking Devil's Path this summer.
Nuun Immunity
Similar to the Nuun Electrolyte tabs, the Nuun Immunity products have the same electrolytes you need to rehydrate during exercise but with added anti-inflammatories and anti-oxidants to help support a healthy immune system. I tested Nuun Immunity a few months ago but have kept swapping them into my training plan anytime I'm worried I might be getting sick. When I'm working late hours or have a particularly stressful training block, I'll use the immunity tabs instead of the traditional electrolyte tablets to make sure my immune system is staying strong.
Nuun Vitamins
Nuun Vitamin tabs also have the same electrolyte offerings but have an added vitamin and mineral supplement to help support overall wellness for athletes. Nuun Vitamin tabs also come with a couple of flavors with caffeine which I like to take in the mornings to feel rejuvenated. Whereas I tend to use the other Nuun products primarily during exercise, I use the Nuun Vitamins more as just a daily supplement to help keep myself healthy.
Final Thoughts
Nuun is by far my favorite hydration tool because A) it's got a ton of necessary electrolytes and B) it's delicious. A lot of other sports drinks tend to be overly sweet which I'm not really a fan of. I like Nuun because it naturally sweetened without overdoing it, and also slightly carbonated which really adds to the refreshment factor.Nuun is not only a great way to stay hydrated every day, but they also keep expanding their product line to offer supplements for a variety of different needs. Meeting with the brand reps at TRE was also an awesome opportunity because we got to hear about some of their plans to continue to expand what they offer. I don't want to give anything away but I think Nuun will continue to have a lot of exciting products coming down the pipeline.
